The "Andrew” behind
Andrew’s Analog Service Center

Andrew's Service Center cheap film developing

Andrew’s Analog Service Center was founded in January 2019 with the belief that film development should be cheap, of professional quality, and the customer service should be as every film photographer desires.

The owner, Andrew Barnum, was raised on, and interacted with, multiple analog formats including: vinyl records, 16mm & Super 8 film, as well as open reel and 8 Track tapes. Later, in his 20’s, he worked at AMC theaters in film projection and later at Walmart doing film development.

Originally, Andrew posted a sample listing on eBay with the goal of earning a few extra dollars for a date night with his wife. The film was developed in tanks in his kitchen. Within a few months an official lab was required, and one was built in a spare bedroom complete with a professional scanner (a Kodak Pakon F135) and larger tanks. That summer APS, 110, and E6 were added to the film index. In November of that year things really picked up, and support for many other film types and formats were added. In the Spring of 2020 Andrew’s wife Rachel started helping out around the Lab, got promoted to Lab Manger and took over the film scanning department.

And with each month the business continues to grow and expand. New equipment is continually added as well as ways to help our customers with their film. Here in the lab we can develop almost any modern film type and some really old ones too! We are one of the few labs that can develop C-22 and we develop ECN-II motion picture film as well for use in point-and-shoot/SLR cameras.

We have a simple mission statement here at Andrew’s Analog Service Center: helping more people to shoot, enjoy, and develop more film in this digital age. We are pushing ahead to become everyone’s go-to lab for low cost, maximum quality developing, scanning, and analog services.
