Can You Scan My Negatives, Slides, or Film?
Yes. We can scan most common film formats, including negatives, slides, odd-size film, and some motion picture film. We can scan film up to 8x10 on our Epson professional flatbed scanner, and we also offer DSLR/camera scanning for formats where camera scanning gives better results.
Because film comes in many sizes, conditions, and formats, pricing and scanning method may vary depending on what you have.
35mm negatives
We can scan cut or uncut 35mm negatives.
35mm strips of 1–2 frames:
$1 per frame
35mm strips of 3–6 frames:
$1 per strip
Uncut 35mm roll, 12 or more frames:
$5 per roll
Resolution upgrades may be available depending on the film and scanning method.
Basic resolution is usually perfect for social media, sharing, and 4x6 prints. Higher-resolution scanning is recommended if you want larger prints, more editing room, or the best possible file from the negative.
120 / 220 / 620 negatives
Medium-format film is generally scanned using DSLR/camera scanning or our Epson professional flatbed scanner, depending on the film condition and the final use.
120 / 220 / 620 scanning:
Starting at $1 per frame or $10 per roll
Medium-format film may require extra handling if it is curled, damaged, very dense, very thin, heavily faded, or an unusual frame size.
APS film
We can scan APS film.
APS scanning:
$10 per roll
APS film can be more time-consuming than standard 35mm because of the cartridge format and film handling involved.
110 film
We can scan 110 negatives using either flatbed scanning or camera scanning, depending on the quality needed and the condition of the film.
110 flatbed scanning:
$0.25 per frame
110 DSLR/camera scanning:
Starting at $1 per frame
Because 110 is a very small negative format, better scanning can make a noticeable difference, especially if the film is old, underexposed, faded, or needs PhotoFlux restoration.
127 film
We can scan 127 film.
127 scanning:
Starting at $1 per frame
Scanning method may depend on the frame size, film condition, and whether the film is cut or uncut.
Mounted slides
We can scan mounted slides, including 35mm slides and many larger slide formats.
Mounted slide scanning:
Starting at $1 per slide
Slides are usually scanned with our DSLR/camera scanning setup or Epson GT-X980 professional flatbed, depending on format and condition. Basic color correction is included with slide scanning.
116 / 616 and other larger roll-film formats
We can scan many larger roll-film formats, including 116 and 616.
116 / 616 scanning:
Starting at $2 per frame
Large or unusual formats may require flatbed scanning, custom positioning, or extra handling.
Disc film
We can scan Disc film.
Disc film scanning:
$10 per disc
Disc film is an extremely small format, so results depend heavily on the original exposure, film condition, and age. PhotoFlux may help improve some Disc film images, but the format itself is very limited.
8mm and Super 8 movie film
We can transfer 8mm and Super 8 movie film.
8mm / Super 8 transfer:
Starting at $5 per 50 ft / 3-inch reel at 1080p
We can transfer many color reversal, black-and-white positive, and black-and-white negative films. Results depend on film condition, exposure, fading, and physical damage.
Our 8mm/Super 8 transfer system is the Wolverine Pro Series scanner.
